A Court of Thorns and Roses Review

A Court of Thorns and Roses - Sarah J. Maas

"When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin--one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world. As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin--and his world--forever."

HOLY COW! I couldn't book this book down! I finished in in 6 hours (and thats with getting super distracted with my 2 cats having a colossal showdown).

To be completely honest... The book started out a little slow for me, I think her time in the woods could have been cut down a little but it picked up rather quickly which I was very happy with. The characters were very well developed and highly enjoyable. Lucian was by far my favorite character in this 1st book. I loved how he literally said whatever he thought and didn't care about the consequences. Feyre was a great heroin to say the least, she stood up for her self through out the whole book and didn't take anything lying down. (You go girl.)

The relationship between Tamlin and Feyre was beautiful but after the events of this book I doubt they can make it work in the long run I mean damn she killed 2 people for him.... That definitely puts a strain on a relationship.

This whole book definitely reminded me of a cross between Beauty and the Beast and the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone. That being said, those 2 are literally my favorites stories so I LOVED THIS BOOK! I can't wait to read the next book which lets face it.. I'm starting it right after I hit "Publish"
